Plant Specific Care:
Bright indirect light with some direct sunlight ok
Philodrendrons like to climb! Set this in a corner or near a wall and see how high it goes! Or let it trail over the side and off a shelf. If it gets too long just chop and prop to make your vase more full.
General Care:
Did you know many plants can thrive in just water?! This makes them so versatile and easy to care for! All the fun with no mess and less attention required.
Water:
To care for your new friend simply change out its water every week or two. This insures there is fresh oxygen for your plant. In addition, monitor for signs like murky water, algae growth, foul odor, or discolored roots. Algae is not harmful unless it gets completely overgrown as it will compete with your plant for resources. Inbetween water changes you may need to top off water level depending on how quickly it evaporates.
*if you see small clay balls (LECA) in your water this is to help stabilize the plant in the vessel. Just rinse with each water change!
Fertilizer:
Because your plant is not in soil it doesn’t get nutrients. To compensate for this, add a diluted amount of fertilizer during each water change. I recommend Dyna-Gro Foliage-Pro but any general liquid fertilizer will do.
